Larry and Don:
I am going to delay, hopefully not utilize, the opportunity you have presented me at the Midnight Mission today.
This letter is to both explain and ask for any assistance you might provide.
I will spend the months of May and June completing my albums,
LEVEL 4 = Kung Fu Cowboy PART 1
LEVEL 4 = Kung Fu Cowboy PART 2
by my folk rock group, American Zen
produced by me, Richard Del Connor
featuring my music and peformances as The Hippy Coyote
on my independent record label, Shaolin Records
with my music published by my music publishing company, Shaolin Music
distributed by my book publishing company, Shaolin Communications
on many of my websites including my biggest, www.shaolinCOM.com
These 36 songs could be the stairway to stardom I need, for financial success. To complete this album, which until today I had stopped production of, to find employment, or a new home, instead of sleeping on my exwife's floor where I haven't been paying rent.
At 20 hours per song: 720 hours
Two album covers: 30 hours
Websites, marketing: 40 hours
Legal work: 20 hours
TOTAL 810 hours of work 50 hours per week = 16 weeks
Somehow I must do this by the end of May 2010 = 6 weeks
Although I teach lessons everyday except Thursday, at least a couple hours per day, I already work all day long the remainder of the day on my various enterprises. I haven't had a girlfriend or lovelife since 2001.
I have just resigned from my Monday nights helping the Tujunga Lodge get their charter back. I cannot volunteer until I get my finances in order.
I have resigned from my Thursday nights as Assistant Secretary of Panamericana 513. My resignation letter will be read at the next stated meeting. I don't even have internet access now, and that gives me at least four more nights per month for working. I will continue as an officer as soon as I am not a "burden on the lodge."
I currently pay $300/month to store my 10' x 30' unit that is packed with my recording masters, photography equipment, film works, music equipment, furniture and bed.
I closed three credit cards, keeping one, paid off two cards.
I don't have a girlfriend, do not socialize or party, other than masonry, and have put a temporary hold on Masonic activities.
My UCLA Film School loan has another year forbearance on it.
Although I contribute towards the bills, I don't have any money for rent.
My best job lead is as a Pinkerton security guard, and that could come up any day, which will halt the above plan, but resolve my financial woes.
We are several months behind in our rent here, so that was one of the reasons I wanted to leave my exwife and daughter's home, was so that they could get another paying renter to take my place.
My exwife, I just learned today, has received $2,000 for her to move to Georgia and live with her father there, where my son Rory already has been living for a year.
My daughter wants to stay with me, here in Montrose, but she is only working part-time and I make only $800 per month. She is being coaxed into moving to Georgia and also living with her grandpa. I don't recommend this move for her, but she is 19 and I will support whatever decision she makes.
If we live together here, we have $1,200/ month rent plus utilities and food, which we are currently unable to come up with, but she told me tonight in our lengthy discussion, that she has always enjoyed living with me, and when my exwife left for 5 years, we really got along well. I also homeschooled her in grades 2, 3, and 4. She returned to public schools as a straight-A student.
She only has a part time job, so both of us are unable to continue living together unless she can get a full time job, and/or I can support her. She wants to start college next year, and if I can support her, I will--but I cannot make that promise in my current situation.
SO, my goal is #1: to complete this pair of record albums, which may or may not bring me financial support now. Either way, I will then be able to devote myself to earning a living, since I cannot complete these albums in my spare time. That is why I only give myself until the end of May to complete them. The end of June would be more reasonable...but somehow I have to have an income before them, or we will be evicted and that will halt the process anyway.
The Pinkerton job may come through before then, and I have a couple applications out for apartment manager...
I explain this to you now so you will either celebrate my success in the next couple months or understand my return to you for a place to live.
This is a "do or die" situation and I'm hoping that your interest and perhaps support will be a factor in my success.
How can you help?
Perhaps just speak well of me. But I have also wanted to resurrect my nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, TAI CHI YOUTH, founded by me in 1996. We have been funded by the NEA National Endowment for the Arts, Utah Arts Councils, private and corporate donors, and by our hundreds of students.
However, since moving to California in 2000, I have not been able to find a lawyer who could volunteer or enough donations to pay an attorney...
I also was bitten by a black widow spider in 2001 which took over two years to recover from. I gained 55 pounds in that time and I am now living proof of how my Tai Chi programs can cure obesity, as well as rehabilitate drug addicts, and spider bite victims.
Tai Chi Youth donations could also support me, as the organization owes me over $100,000 in back wages and reimbursements. As I told you before, I have always worked full time, I just don't get paid most of the time.
Any connections to new board members for Tai Chi Youth, lawyers, and contracts for our Tai Chi Programs, would relaunch my financial success again in a wonderful way...
My last treasurer of Tai Chi Youth dropped the ball and moved away to dental school leaving me to resort and restart the organization in 2007. I just filed a 30 day extension with IRS because I want to reorganize the finances, create a new Mission Statement, and launch Tai Chi Youth as an ONLINE EDUCATION organization in order to reach more youths, benefit more people, and enable it to support itself without any donations.
So, please, let's schedule some time to discuss this and if you can make any suggestions for my new TCY Board of Trustees, or anyone to advise me...I would be greatly appreciative.
As I told you, I have a great success record of rehabilitating and improving lives with my Tai Chi programs. Perhaps just the funding to pay me to teach at your institution would be a great kick start.
The lack of funding is what motivated me to create the BUDDHA KUNG FU schools that I launched in 2008. This sole proprietorship is what I market myself under and teach my TAI CHI KIDS classes and the 12 WEEK 12 STEP KUNG FU BOOTCAMP.
I teach seniors...also... but I realize I am already overloading this letter with information...
NEXT, any movie work or connections to movie producers would give me an opportunity to sell my songs and music for movie soundtracks. I know I have acting talent also, but I am trying to narrow my focus. So my music in movies is what I primarily seek.
Oh, I just found out that one of my novels, SID'S PLACE, and a screenplay of mine that Steven Spielberg was excited about in 1990 have been absorbed into the database library of the William Morris Agency. Do you know anyone there I could contact? Without a manager, without an agent, and without a record label...I am all alone in the entertainment industry at this time.
LASTLY, I was busted in 1970 for marijuana with a friend named Don. A famous scientist uncle of mine, Richard E. Warner, gave me the opportunity to live in Newfoundland rather than go to jail. My friend Don, went to jail and has led a wasted life. Although I probably would have been more successful than him, even if I would have been incarcerated, I have always had a passion to provide criminals and drug addicts an opportunity to have a better life and devoted much of my time to aiding and volunteering in rehabs and prisons. I cannot afford to volunteer anymore, but I have proven that I am a valuable asset to any institution that has utilized my services. In Utah, chiropractors sent their patients to me. I believe I did more to rehabilitate them than the chiropractors. I have cured sleeping disorders, helped chemotherapy recovery...
Since you, the Midnight Mission, offered your services to me, I want you to know that in the future, you will be my foremost institution to receive my support. Maybe ironically, it will be financial, but whatever I can do for you, I would hope you will ask for.
One of the reasons I have devoted myself to Masonry and inspired other Masons, is because I am by nature, idealistic, humanistic, and charitable. I am a spiritual leader to many who consider me their priest, guru, or religion. I refer to myself as a, "Buddhist Scientist," who teaches Buddhism and has studied its effects on persons since 1984.
I am going to go back through this letter and create web links for you to visit, to see what I have done and what I am doing.
I hope that I will not require the services of your Midnight Mission, but I want you to know that in the last year and a half that I have been desperately seeking independence from my broken family, simply: a place to live, you were the first to throw a life raft.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Looking at those people on the street, outside the Midnight Mission, the actual "skid row" of Los Angeles, and realizing how close I am to being homeless, was I hope the last kick in the rear I will ever receive to move me forward in life.

4. I have many other projects and irons in the fire of which I will mention one, since it also concerns Freemasonry. I discovered that one of the most common Chinese Kung Fu Forms taught in various schools, including my own, was created by a Chinese Kung Fu Master during the 1930s when the Japanese occupied China. This Kung Fu Form, I call, "Masonic Kung Fu," has all three degrees, dugards, and signs and the symbolic trade tools choreographed into the first third of the Form. The second third tells the story of Hiram Abif, and the last section is the obligations. It is a masterpiece of choreography, Kung Fu, and a testament of how Masonry has endeavored to persevere in the harshest of social climates.
I performed this Masonic Kung Fu Form for Grand Secretary Lou Casalou at the Secretaries Retreat and he was impressed. He has written me a letter of introduction to the Grand Secretary of Chinese Masons asking him to assist me in researching this further.
Perhaps a movie or book deal or just the coolest way to promote Freemasonry is my destiny. I mention that as another possible way you could promote me.
Whew!
I need a manager. I'm a one-man operation, and I currently have created and maintain 110 websites hosted by my publishing company, Shaolin Communications.
I apologize for taking so much of your time, in reading this letter, but I hope that you will be inspired to pursue a friendship and relationship with me. Perhaps you can help me more than you realize, and perhaps I can help you also.
Whatever happens, thank you for your support, kindness, generosity, and charity today. I will always be a supporter of the Midnight Mission.
